what do you count as napping? *clicky poll for fun*

So, I've just started to try and transition my babe from falling asleep at the breast to actual fall asleep from awake nap time in his swing & PNP.

I usually end up sitting there holding a pacifier in his mouth or shushing him for about 20-30 minutes while he drifts in and out of sleep (sudden wake ups where eyes open for about 15 seconds and he sucks voraciously on his paci) before he's really sleeping.  Then, he sleeps for about 20 minutes before wanting to be awake again.

Would you count that as a 20 minute nap or a 40-50 minute nap?

Thanks :)

  • I would count the time that you can walk away and get something done as true napping. My girl would sleep for hours on me, but napping on her own only gives me 20-30 min stretches.

This!  I would call what your LO is doing "catnapping".
