Dr. Bump, tell me what to do

I detest my current family doctor.  I found a new doctor that everyone in town raves about and made an appointment because I had banged/popped my elbow so flipping bad that it was excruciating to even bend my arm for about a week.  It hurt like bloody hell.  So, being that I'm a new patient, I couldn't get an appointment for almost 3 weeks.  Now, my appointment is for this Thursday and my elbow doesn't really hurt anymore, so I'm pretty sure it's not broken.  ;P

Would you keep the appointment and be seen so you get rid of that nasty "new patient" name or would you cancel b/c you don't really have a reason to go other than the new patient thing?  I seriously cannot decide.  I might ask my oracle on fb...

  • Do you need a checkup? If so, call them and change the reason for the appointment (b/c it may change the time they allot to your appointment) and keep the appointment

    Ditto this.

This. New patient appt are hard to come by with a new doctor. I wouldn't cancel.
  • I'd keep the appt so that you become an established patient.

  • Ok, I'm keeping the appointment.  I may have to make something up b/c I don't really need a check-up, but I don't want to be in "new patient" limbo forever.

    thanks!
