What's your current schedule for pumping? I was a little worried because now I'm only getting 6-7 ounces a day pumping, but I think this might be okay.
I think my body is supposed to just know how much she needs during the day and she's eating a lot more solids now. I always seem to have enough when it's time to nurse.
6am- nurse and solid meal breakfast
11am- pump 3-4 ounces
(noon- bottle and solid meal lunch with DH)
2pm- pump 3 ounces
5pm- nurse and solid meal dinner
7pm- nurse
then there is usually another nursing session sometime over night, but not every night.
Re: pumping/nursing/working moms
We bedshare and she eats a few times a night - depends on the night. But typically she eats 2-3 times a night.
Somewhere between 5:00-6:30 - she eats one side
6:30 pump both sides (4-7 oz, depends on when/how muh she ate overnight)
10:30 pump (6-8 oz)
Around 4:30-5:00 pick her up, feed one side, both sides if she is hella hungry
Around 6:00-6:30 feed again, one side
Around 8:30-9:30 feed one side, bedtime
She has 3 4oz bottles at daycare. Some days she eats all, some days not so much. Flexibility is our middle name around here, that is what works best for us. I am not a rigid schedule type person.
Mommy to Rachel 1.15.06 and Ashley 5.17.11
5am: pump 4-6 ounces
6:30am: nurse
11:00am: pump 2-4 ounces
3:45pm: pump 2-4 ounces
5:00pm- nurse
6:00pm- 4 ounces of solid food
7:30pm- nurse
DD gets 16 ounces of BM and 4-8 ounces of solids at daycare between 7:30am-4:15pm
I have officially blown through my entire freezer stash.
I am considering supplementing with formula. I'm going to see if she can manage with less BM (12 ounces instead of 16) at daycare and make up for it nursing at home. If not, I'll just add formula when needed and continue with my regular pumping schedule so she is still getting BM.
Our schedule is very relaxed and is usually never the same two days in a row. I just changed up my pumping sessions at work (went from 9 am, 12 pm, & 3 pm down to just 10 am & 2 pm), so this is a fairly new schedule for us.
4-5:30 am - nurse one side
9-10 am - pump (7-10 oz); he also gets a 4 oz bottle and solids around this time
1:30-3 pm - pump (7-9 oz); he gets a 4 oz bottle and solids around this time
4-5 pm - he gets a 4 oz bottle
5-9 pm - nurse on demand & he gets solids between 6-7 pm
9 pm-6 am - bed share/nurse as he needs it (usually 2 times/night around 12-1 am & 4-5:30 am)
He hardly EVER takes all three 4 oz bottles while I'm working and I'm still able to replace (and have extra) with what I pump at work.
6 am--pump one side (4 oz.)
7 am--nurse on the other side
10:30--pump at work (3 - 4 oz)
2:30--pump at work (3 - 4 oz)
6:00--Nurse & finger foods for dinner
8:00--Sometimes nurse before bed...I think she's dropping this session
At daycare, DD has a bottle & solids at 8:30 & 11:30 & has a her 3rd bottle around 4.
I used to send 5 - 6 oz. bottles to daycare. I'm trying to send 4 oz. bottles to daycare, and I think I'm going to start using my freezer stash.
I don't nurse, but I still pump and now have to supplement since my supply has dropped.
Here is my schedule:
5:00am - pump 15 ounces
10:30am - pump 10 ounces
3:30pm - pump 10 ounces
9:00pm - pump 8 ounces
My boys drink a total of 50-55 ounces a day, so I give them each 8-10 ounces of formula.
They also get 3 meals a day - oatmeal/fruit mid-morning, veggies/fruit (still on purees) early afternoon, and meat/veggie/fruit puree plus finger food practice early evening.
DS is generally still sleeping when I go to work, so I pump in the AM when I wake (5-7 oz). I then pump at 10 and 1:30ish at work (3-5oz). I nurse in the evenings, and pump again before bed (DS usually has a bottle, because my supply was pretty low in the evenings). I nurse for his middle of the night feeding too.
My supply has really tanked as of late also, gone are the days of building a freezer supply.
DS is still sleeping when I head to work in the am so:
5:30am pump 6-10 oz (depending on how often he woke up the night before)
10:00am pump 8-10oz
2:00pm pump 8-10oz
3:45pm breastfeed when I get home
6:00pm breastfeed
6:30pm solids
7:45 breastfeed
bedtime at 8:00pm
My supply is dropping so we are starting to go through my stash, makes me a little sad that breastfeeding is coming to an end soon.

I stopped pumping at about 6 months. I just nurse when I'm home now. It was uncomfortable at first but after a few days my body got used to it. Now it's only uncomfortable once in awhile depending on circumstance. Did I eat oatmeal for breakfast? Did I drink more water than usual? Did she not eat as much the night before, etc.
I just wasn't getting as much when I pumped. Like 4 ounces total so I gave up and I'm lucky my body allows me to nurse at all.
