that requires NO sewing? I'm such a klutz when it comes to any and all sewing projects... would it be possible to hem the fabric with something like stitch witch?
This is a good website! I think a lot of woven matierals would have to be hemmed to keep from coming unraveled, but I'm not sure. Onasburg is a good fabric for a homemade woven.
The DIY moby would only be good for a little baby, and only for a short period of time, as a heavy baby wouldn't be supported well by the stretch. Definitely not for back carries.
As for making your own woven wrap, the only material i would suggest is osnaburg, but even then i really only suggest it to "test the waters' and find the right size for you, then get a real woven. There is just NO comparing an industrial grade upholstery fabric to a material that is woven for the intention of holding a baby.
You can get a C&C wrap for around $50 - 75 new (depending on the size) and you can troll TBW waiting for a bargain on something else. It is WELL worth the money for your and your childs comfort, and security :-)

No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
Re: Anyone have a link for making a woven.....
Hope this is what you're looking for - I have not made it yet, was planning on trying this weekend... Good luck!

also as to the hemline, ideally you would want something that is double-hemmed, not surged or glued, as this will provide much better support.
