I usually take a 20 minute break in the evening to eat, & take a shower. H watches DD during that time. Well, when I leave the room to shower DD will melt down. I am talking full on freak out. H will do everything "right" to attempt to calm her but she will have none of it until I am done & snuggle her again. Its gratifying to be needed for sure but H feels awful.
DD is teething so I am wondering if that makes a difference. H does all the things I do when DD freaks & it makes him sad (awe) that she loses it when I leave the room. Does anyone elses' LO do this?
I have assured H that he is a wonderful daddy (which he is & he adores DD. She smiles at him all the time too). That sometimes baby just wants mama.
Re: Separation Anxiety already?
You're so right! We went through something similar from about 2 months-4 months. DD didn't want anyone but me, didn't matter who it was or what they were doing. My mom thought it was a little early for her to be so attached, but...what can you do? She's better now, though...for the time being!
DD started this around 2.5-3 months, it made DH crazy. It gradually went away, and now I'm practically invisible when DH comes home. Ha! She thinks he's just SO entertaining. ;-)
With time, hopefully LO will get past this phase!
