Hi Ladies,
Just wondering your opinion. Last week I started feeling a little bit of m/s... or actually, afternoon sickness to be exact. I havent' actually thrown up, but feeling very queasy. So far this past weekend and today, I have been feel absolutely dreadful! Again, no throwing up but very queasy to the point that really nothing sounds good to eat. I've been trying to munch on pretzels and suck down some soup and lots of water, but it's starting to worry me a little because today I feel like I've got the flu. Does this sound pretty par for the course of early pregnancy?
I came home from work today and all I wanted to do was take a nap, so I did lay down. I woke up after about an hour and was burning up and feeling even worse than I did before the nap. Again, does this sound pretty normal, or does it sound like I could really be coming down with the flu? This is my first pregnancy and I have my first appointment a week from tomorrow and have already been in once for some sever back pain, so I don't want to go running to the doctor every time I feel a little diffrent. Any thoughts would be appreciated! TIA!
Re: Sound normal to feel this awful?
Sound's like what I've been feeling. I'm 8w with my first.. and feel like I have the flu, a hang over, and was in a car accident... but actually have none of these.
The only thing keeping me going is that I get to hear the baby's heartbeat this Friday, and see the little person who is making me so sick!
Hope you feel better soon!
What you described is how I've felt with both pregnancies. With my first pregnancy, I lost 12 lbs from 6-12 weeks due to the nausea and nothing sounding good to eat. With this pregnancy it started at 6 weeks again and is so bad that I can't even think about food. I feel nauseous all day long. If you had the flu, you would have a fever. Have you taken your temperature to be sure?
The only things that I've been able to eat so far:
strawberry fruit popsicle
ginger ale/flavored club soda
crackers
I've found that if I feel really queasy, it helps to drink something carbonated and then try eating a few crackers or goldfish. After that, sometimes a food item sounds like it might be ok. Taking your prenatal vitamins before bed rather than during the day can help too.
I felt just like this too, even the feeling warm thing.
I did however a few days after I started feeling really bad get a sinus infection and got an actual fever which made me feel HORRIBLE. Nausea plus sinus infection was hell.
I bought a thermometer because I had been feeling warm but didn't have a fever but I was glad I had it to monitor myself just in case. I read that pregnant women 'run hotter' than normal so I am always in the low 99's now for my temp.
I hope you feel better...take a warm bath, it made me feel better at the time

Since I was 6 weeks I have felt like I have had a constant hangover. All of your symptoms sound normal too me. Hope you feel better soon. I feel your pain!
