Potty seat reqs

Ok.. it's time to start thinking about this. C's beginning to tell me when he needs a diaper!!!

What do you have and what do you like it/don't like about it?

I think I want one that sits on top of the regular toilet seat, rather than a stand-alone. That way, when we're out and about, he won't balk at going on a "big toilet."

bjorn. It was very stable and easy to put on and take off (it takes a few tries to fit it to your toilet). Down side is it is big so it doesn't travel well (we got the folding sesame street one - cause nothing says lovable and furry like a toilet seat - but it moves around a lot).

Good luck....just remember every child has a currency, you just need to figure out what yours is (if you are lucky just being a big boy will be reward enough)

Oh ! And if you get the one with the two stacking seats (that you need to put on in place of your regular seat) let me know if it works well b/c I am thinking about that this time around.

I got two of these, so we can have one upstairs and one downstairs.

I wanted the cute character ones, but they didn't have two that matched in the store, and I did not want to risk possible "but I want the Elmo seat!" drama.

They are very easy to drop into place and take out, and seem very stable. DD has taken to reading a book while she sits there, so it has to be somewhat comfortable.

We have a Baby Bjorn. Haven't used it yet, but it seems like it'll work fine.

The Bjorn one for sure. I had bought the regular rings and the slid all over the place plus Noah would pee over the top before he learned to point down. The Bjorn one is really secure which I found made a big difference with Noah and the shape was really good. I replaced all of ours with these.

Bjorn all the way.

One of my twins will NOT sit on the regular potty at home- but when we are out he has no problem with it (have no idea why!).

Bjorn is the best - so easy to clean, no parts to get all gross that you can't clean well, etc.

they make little portable potty seats, too, in case you have a kid who won't sit on a toilet when you are out.

I thought a stand-alone would be easier to get used to at the beginning. Adrian is still not even remotely close to being potty-trained (I haven't been putting him on it much) so we'll see how that goes. So far he treats his potty like a toy (it's a frog shape, so he calls it "froggy") but pees in it when I put him naked on it. I also have to sit on the regular toilet and pee with him. He thinks it a riot but at least he pees. #2 is a different story, no success with that so far.

But he recently switched over to a toddler bed and we're still dealing with that transition, so potty training can wait.
