2nd Trimester

Lots of movement already!

Okay, I'm 18 weeks pregnant today and for the last week I've been feeling lots of pops and fluttering (I'm a FTM). I'm thinking I have a very active baby. My only concern is when my LO gets bigger am I in for a world of pain as the movement gets stronger? Anyone else have a very active baby at 18 weeks?

  • Baby will run out of room soon, it should calm down some but enjoy it!

  • I had an ultrasound Thursday 17w1d and the tech and I were both very surprised as to how active the baby was, I haven't felt a lot of movement yet though. She was even more surprised that I couldn't feel my LO moving since it was moving soooo much.

  • Mine started at 20 weeks. And now two weeks later she's getting stronger already. When she's facing the inside, she seems to start hitting stuff that doesn't feel great. Not hurting yet, but feeling slightly uncomfortable. I'd like to see the answers for this question too. :) Oh and my boyfriend was nearly a 10 lb. baby. I was an 8.8 pounder. I'm probably just in for a big child lol.

  • My LO doesn't stop and I keep saying it's just like me, never stops moving, active mommy and active baby!! It's  pretty funny... i'm nervous to oonce it gets bigger, I'm gonna have my insides kicked out! lol
  • My baby started moving at 18 weeks and it is really active right now. I love it. I'm also grateful that it doesn't appear to be a morning person like me.

  • I've been feeling tons of movement for the past few weeks. Now at week 20 the baby is crazier than ever! Things will slow down the more cramped the baby gets. Everyone will experience a painful jab every now and then, but it's all part of the process. Enjoy every minute of it! You are almost halfway through your pregnancy!

  • I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow and just starting feeling flutters today. It's so cool! DH is jealous because he wants to feel it too.
  • I love it! Yes my baby is active two. This weekend she wasn't moving a whole lot so this morning when I felt her moving it really put my mind at ease.

Also, with both previous pregnancies it did not slow down. I felt movement up until the day they were born!:)

  • I had an active baby around that time and he is still active. It hasn't been painful, but I enjoy these weeks when he will be kicking because once they run out of room and there are less kicks you don't get the joy of it anymore.

  • Our little one is very active during the day. Especially after a snack. The pops are getting big enough to see! Once the baby gets bigger and you can tell where the body parts are, those lovely little elbows, knees, and feet make themselves well known. My son's elbow would grind it's way into the same spot day after day.

Sometimes the baby will shift from one side to the other making everything lopsided, which is fun to watch go back and forth. Almost like they are trying to reach an itch on their backs. :)

  • My DD was spastic.. I mean crazy right up until the end- but it's certainly not painfull.. I loved every single moment of it!! She litterally was like a roller coaster.. I show people video's of her in my stomach and people are almost grossed out because she was so crazy w/ her movements.. I miss it! I can't wait to feel soemthing w/ this one!!

  • I have been feeling baby since week 16.5..  Baby just keeps getting more active, sometimes all day now, being almost 26 weeks.

  • With my first, I started feeling flutters around 15-16 weeks and kicks around 19-20.  They say it slows down as they get bigger and more cramped, but DS never quit kicking me, and he was definitely cramped: I'm only 5'4" and he weighed 9lb 7oz!  I felt hard, keep-me-up-at-night kicks until the day he was born.  Every baby is different, you'll just have to wait and see!

This. I've been able to feel LO since 16.5 weeks and now 10 weeks later and he's still extremely active. The past week or so he's changed from kicking to more rolling around sort of movements. When he presses his ...head? butt? something bigger than a hand... right up against me it can be slightly uncomfortable but nothing has been actually painful. Even the uncomfortable movements make me giggle though, as a FTM I'm more and more amused by every single new movement. <3
