We need to expand DD's library. We have mostly soft or board (bored) books and some Dr. Suess and golden books. Any recs for some of your toddler's favorites?
We only use board books in the car. I would recommend going to the library and just grabbing a ton of books about all kinds of things, that way you can see what she likes. I go to the library for about 50 books every week.
DS likes Eric Carle too. Also Kohls features books all the time and I always stock up. They had Eric Carle awhile ago and also some Clifford the Big Red Dog books that L loves. DS also loves his Dora books and Thomas books - I got them in boxed sets from Costco. Costco has a great selection of books.
He is starting to really like Dr Seuss books, as well. He loves The Foot Book, Mr Brown Can Moo, The Tooth Book, The Nose Book, etc.
He still likes his Sandra Boynton books and is now to the point where he likes to "read them" to himself. They're pretty easy for him to remember key words from each page.
His favorite book right now is this one. My mom picked it up from Costco I think.
I hit up the library a lot too and bring a bunch home ... if there's a book he loves I keep it in mind for later on.
Ditto Joyco on hitting up the library. I usually grab a couple and let DD pick out a few more. Right now she's really into ABC-based books (like Chicka Chicka Boom Boom) and anything that has ladybugs/bugs in it. We almost always come home with a Ladybug Girl book.
ETA: I usually try to grab at least one book off the Read Aloud America recommendation lists, too.
