how often do u replace pump parts?

How often should I replace my pump parts for my medla PISA? It seems like the suction tube (nopt sure if that is what it's called) may be getting a little bit on the cloudy side...or just not as clear as a brand new one. I try to wash it in hot soapy water (which is super hard to get water in and then hard to get all the water out). BTW, how do you wash your pump parts?
