Can we AW our DHs?

Re: Can we AW our DHs?

  • My H just finished 5 days of working overnight 11-7.  This is not something that is supposed to be part of his job, but he was forced into it (he's a pharmacist).  Neither one of us was really happy about it, especially because I tend to get anxious at night by myself.  So, at the beginning of the week he packed an overnight bag for me full of stuff I might need while he is gone.  He included a note for each night, a hot water bottle to keep the bed warm, a stress reliever toy, his hoodie for me to wear, a hammer for protection (lol), a box/bag of candy to open each night in case I got hungry, a People magazine for late night mindless reading, and a notepad just because I love notepads.  It was so sweet and gave me something to look forward to each night before I went to bed. • He brought home flowers for me last Wednesday night! He never ever ever buys me flowers, so this was so exciting! Otherwise, we've been at each others throats like cats and dogs lately. :(

  • The best I can come up with right now, (aside from everyday stuff I guess), was letting me induldge in a bubble bath and a bottle of wine last night while he put the kids to bed.

  • My DH has been doing just about everything on the weekends with the girls since I've been pregnant.  He's always been very helpful but he's really stepped it up and I haven't even asked him to.

He has also been really excited about taking Parker ice skating on the weekends.  It's their little thing and adorable.  *sigh* He's such a great husband-- and father.

  • DH swept and mopped yesterday! He never does that lol. Also, he kept boths the boys happy while I had to work on homework and study. (I can't study when they cry-at all)

  • J cleaned the whole house last weekend, even though he only has one day off a week. He's been super sweet and extra helpful lately, making sure his own laundry is done and taking care of other things I normally do for him. He's got a lot on his plate at work and at home, but he seems to be up to the task, which is awesome.

I could have this baby any minute now so it's nice to have some help.

  • He rocked his board mtg this past weekend. He was promoted to Pres/CEO of his company back in the Summer and their yearly board mtg was Saturday and he killed it! Everybody was super happy with the way things are going, all the board members are on board {pun intended} with his ideas and plans and he didn't get all stabby on his majority owner. Yay!
  • I'm new to the SAHM role (three weeks in...) and the other night he told me I was doing a good job of taking care of the kids, the house, meals and laundry.  Might not sound like much, but made me smile :)

That is adorable! And i'm sure it did make those 5 days more tolerable!

My H took today off and I was able to take a wonderful, relaxing 20 minute shower. I managed to shave my legs without listening for a cry or watching the baby monitor. I dried my hair and when the hairdryer shut off, I could hear HakunaMatata (sp?) from the Lion King.  I assumed he had put on a movie, but I came out and they were singing and dancing around the living room just listening to a kids station on Pandora.  It was super cute. We've had a nice family day together. And now he's napping and I get to go grocery shopping alone...

Now I have a HUGE crush on your H!!

Mine has been been doing SO much better. I guess everyone remembers how he wasn't doing anything to help, I have been putting my foot down and just requiring more, and its been such a blessing. He is even doing things that I would have never even wanted/hoped he would do... its been nice. Don't have anything in particular to point out, but just being "better" all around.

  • Our LO woke up at 430 wanting a bottle. I brought her to our bed to feed her where she threw up after eating a few ounces. My DH helped clean up even though he had to leave for work at 6. He gave her a bath while I changed the sheets. At 515 we all got back into bed and she started drinking another bottle. She threw up again. Repeat process of cleaning up. Then H kept DD entertained while I got a shower ( second time was all over me) and answered the triage nurses questions when she called back. I felt really bad for them both! He even offered to run to the store before work ( since we opened a new can of formula yesterday they wanted us to make sure it wasn't a bad batch). I was just about to leave for the store with DD when she threw up again on the kitchen floor. DH cleaned it up before getting ready for work. Not an easy morning for any of us!

  • Got up saturday morning fed DD breakfast and got her ready for the day so i  could sleep in , helped make my favorite meal , did all the dirty diapers , helped clean , gave me a massage. On top of that he buys me and DD anything we want (within reason) and works so i can stay home with DD and pays for the car :)

  • Foot rub.  It was heavenly. It doesn't happen to often, but I consider myself a very lucky lady, I guess I could never get one at all.
