Stopping pumping

I am sick of pumping- been EP since she was in the NICU. I want to stop so I can just enjoy her more and not be feeding, pumping, feeding, pumping. I feel guilty though. With my first, I BF for 9 weeks and then stopped. I am also getting less milk since I spread out the sessions.

Any words of wisdom?

Re: Stopping pumping

  • How long have you been EP'ing? Your siggy, I am guessing, is from your first baby.

  • I would just say try to stick with it as long as you can. I know there are many times in the first few months where I just wanted to quit but here I am, at 11 months of nursing and I am SO proud and excited that we've made it this far.  Be proud that you have done this for 6 weeks! It's not easy. Best of luck for whatever decision you make!

  • The problem is I feel like between her original health issues and my 3 year old, and going back to work in 5 weeks, I am not enjoying everyone as much as I should, tied to a pump.

I also am pumping so much less so can't even keep up with her. 2-5 ounces per session,
