Not sure about a 22m old, but I know they were the best thing ever when I went on a cruise and discovered I suffered from seasickness. I also have a niece who has used them for motion sickness in the car since she was quite small. I would say its worth buying them ahead of time and having just in case....
That's a great question. One of my girls gets very motion sick...she's thrown up on more than one 5 minute drive
I never actually thought of giving her anything...I am banking on turning her ff in 6 months to a year as being a possible solution, but that won't help on boats and planes.
Seabands helped for me on a cruise, but only nominally. The biggest problem I foresee with use on a toddler is that they are pretty uncomfortable. I have a feeling my girls would rip them off.

We are also taking our LO on a cruise shortly as well some people recommended ginger candies to help settle the stomach but that seems like a choking hazard to me so I will be happy to see if anyone else has any good advise to offer. My dr said it's really rare for little one's to get sea sick
