My OB delivers at Doylestown hospital and since I am new to the area was wondering if any of you have given birth there and what your experience was like. It seems really nice on the outside, haven't taken a tour yet are anything so I don't know what the rooms are like. Any input would be great! Thanks!
Re: Doylestown Hospital Birthing Experiences?
I had an elective c-section. All went very well. I had a private room until the last night. There was talk of them expanding the maternity ward but I don't know if that's begun yet.

I don't think the work on the new wing has really begun yet.
I had a positive experience there, but did wind up with a c section in the end because of a spike in DD's heart rate. They were very patient and willing to let me labor on my own terms through it all. And the recovery and lactation care was excellent.
I am switching hospitals for this one, though, b/c they don't do VBAC's there very much and I want to give it a try.
I deliverd there in 2009 and had a great experience - but I did end up with a C-section. I never dialated even after 12 hours of pitocin.
I did have to share a room my last night there - but I was told that the new wing is complete and all rooms are private rooms again.
I will have a scheduled C-section there in late March. The staff at the hospital was great! I have no concerns about delivering there again.
A sidenote for you - Doylestown Hospital does not have a pediatrics division. If you need a hospital after little one is born - I would recommend Abington Hospital. They're pediatric department is run through CHOP and it is also a great hospital!
