bleeding???

Hi All

Ok, so this is kinda long.

I found out I was pregnant exactly a week ago. I had my first ob visit on tuesday. She calculated my due date based on lmp, even though I was unsure of exactly the day I last had mine. She said dont worry, im scheduling you for an ultrasound at the hospital so we can get a better idea of how far along you are. According to her estimate tho, I should be around 9 weeks. I think a week or two earlier.

Well, pretty much I started spotting a few days before i even found out I was pregnant, and i mistook this as my period. When an "actual" flow didnt start i took the pregnancy test for the hell of it lol and it came out positive. Then the spotting stopped. It started again after I saw the dr, but i wasn't concerned b/c I know spotting can be normal, plus ive had a little here and there with my previous 2 kids.

Friday towards the end of my work day, I went to the bathroom and when i wiped, there was ALOT of bright red blood. I freaked out a little. There was a few drips in the toliet and nothing in my panties. I went back to my desk waited about 10 mins then went back and wiped again. This time there was very little. I called my OB and she told me to monitor it over the weekend and if i start having any pain (which I had none at the time) to give her a call. She told me to still go to my ultrasound on monday b/c they will be able to see what's going on.

That night there was no blood, yesterday morning there was some spotting. It has been off and on ever since. No pain tho and I still have morning sickness, which I think is a good sign.

Well with all that said lol, my question is Has anyone been through this? or is anyone going through this?

You did the right thing by calling your dr. What I would do is just take it easy this weekend and see what happens tomorrow at the appt. I've heard that bright red blood is not a very good sign, but it does happen and things do turn out normal. It is a good sign that you haven't had any cramping. Maybe your cervix is just tender or something. My T&P are with you and good luck tomorrow at your appointment.

I had that at 6w4d, and went in for an ultrasound the following day. They diagnosed me with a subchorionic hematoma. The baby was totally fine, but I'm taking it easy (partial bedrest), and drinking a lot. I'm doing another monitoring ultrasound on Tuesday, and again the following Wednesday. Your doc should definitely check it out, but it might not be as bad as it feels right now. Good luck.

This can be very scary and calling the Doc wasw the thing to do. I had this happened and with this being my first, I freaked! Not just slightly, a lot freaked. I have/had blood behind the placenta. The Doc said it does happen and in most cases (90%), everything turns out normal with the baby. So far things are continuing like the same. I was 13 weeks as of last Wednesday and I heard the heartbeat at my Doctor's appt last Tuesday. Take care

I am kind of having the same thing happen to me. I went to the bathroom and there were a few drops of bright red blood in the toilet and when I wiped it was bright red. I went back to the bathroom ten minutes later and it was brown again. (I've been having brown discharge for about 4 weeks now). After that one instance, there hasn't been anymore bright red blood. I have another u/s on wednesday and am really hoping everything is ok. Just hang in there and know that you aren't the only one going through this!

I had heavy period like bleeding from the 5th week through the 7th! Went to get an u/s yesterday and baby is perfect with a strong heartbeat! I feel like bleeding in early pregnancy is normal. When i was freaking out I noticed there was no shortage of people asking the same questions! All the best!
