I wouldn't say we've really *given anything up*, but we have definitely cut back.
- I only have 1 small cup of coffee a day
- No alcohol or 1 glass of red wine a month
- I try to use natural bath soaps / facial cleansers / body lotion
- Warm foot baths 3 days a week (recommended by my acupuncturist)
- Yoga : to help reduce stress

Hello, We have been TTC for 2 years now. In the beginning I gave up caffine and I was already an exercise freak as well as a health food concious person. Last month we saw a fertility specialist and he told me to stop exercising except for walking, eat a gluten free diet, stay off the caffine, no alcohol, start acupuncture, prenatal yoga, and supplements which include DHEA and COQ10 along with of course the prenatal vitamins. We just did our first IUI Thurs and Friday and now we are in our 2ww. The hardest thing is not exercising, my husband and I do go for walks on the weekends but its too dark when I get home during the week. I am missing my Shawn T insanity work out videos.. But It is definitely worth it if it brings us a miracle baby...
Ha! Yes, I suppose since I asked I should also list mine.
I'm cutting back on the coffee to just one cup a day. I'm still having a couple glasses of wine on the weekends but only up to the point where I thought I Oed - just in case.
I do exercise. I jog 4-5 miles twice a week and strength train with mild cardio 3 times a week. I don't plan on changing anything with exercise.
I'm going to start charting my temps now. I just bought a basal thermometer today. I wonder if it is actually any different than the regular thermometer? I think I may have paid $8 more for the word basal on the label.
I've had a TON of work related stress but things at work should start to mellow out over the next few weeks. I'm trying to get more sleep.
I've also started getting organized to catch up on scrapbooking, and we had a family portrait taken.
I've quit drinking and serious cut back the caffeine. I'm using an eCig to try to quit smoking. That one is toughy. Been trying to quit that for years. I'll be doing really good then my husband has go and piss me off and I start again. lol
I make my own *1/2 caf*. I mix half regular coffee with half decaf.... I found this easier, a more gradual decrease.... If you like SB, McD's, Tullys, etc.. they will make 1/2 caf for you .. just ask.
Of course that's assuming the bulk of your caffeine is from coffee ...

Reduced coffee from 3-4 cups a day to only one! Major victory for me.
Diet: Reduced sweets. I'll only enjoy them in moderation on the weekends now. Am now in love with fruit, yogurt. Eating a lot more veg and have cut a lot of carbs.
Supplements... I was an herbal supplement queen. Have cut them all out, and am now only on a prenatal.
Yoga: sticking with basic beginners, no inversions etc, to avoid any uterine disruption.
My allergy medications. I have seasonal allergies so it has been tough but I've been off my flonase and singulair since the summer.
I don't know how you have done this! I can't go without them but I also have asthma and was told it's much better for me to breath and be healthy.
I have cut back on sweets and alcohol to get healthy. I'm not to worried about cutting back completely on the alcohol until AF reappears. Then I probably will stop altogether.

I was told by my RE, OBGYN, and pulmologist that it is OK for me to take singulair, pulmicort, and my daily antihistamine (I can't remember what I take, I know that is sad).

I feel like I am in the same boat! My allergist said that hypoxia for a baby is way worse than taking the meds so I need to breath properly and stay healthy.

Wine was the biggest thing for me to give up. Was (still am at heart) a big wino.
I cut back from 1-2 cups of real coffee to one cup of 1/2 caff. It's Folgers brand, actually made that way (rather than brewing a pot of each).
Added in the prenatals but that was years ago - at this point I forget that I am even taking "special" vitamins.
During an active cycle I don't ride my horse after transfer (or really before retrieval either when I get uncomfortable and paranoid), which is a big thing for me. I also don't go to the gym because I was sporadic at it before and they say not to start something like that if you weren't already. It sucks because I've gained 20 lbs over the last year or so between being sick (not one of the lucky ones that lose weight from that?!) and fert treatments.
I don't drink soda at all except for Reeds ginger brew.
I don't take Advil during active cycles, and that ibu is sure missed sometimes!
In general I try to eat healthier - more salads and proteins mainly. I don't eat red meat and MH doesn't eat any meat at all, so I have to make it a point to add in fish, eggs or chicken to my meals.
I gave up all OTC drugs, including my dear, dear friend Zyrtec D (I miss you, Z!). I haven't gone near any of my psoriasis meds for nearly a year, which almost all have either potentially awful or unknown side effects. I recently started cutting back on caffeine and managed to get down to just one caffeine item a day.
One thing I gave up that I totally DON'T miss is changing the cat litter!
We've both started eating much, much healthier. Lots and lots of leafy greens and much less fat in our diets (which he isn't loving but is going along with) and I'm sneaking fiber into everything I can. I've begun taking prenatals and trying to eat at least 2 fruits or veggies with every meal.

That was my vice. I was not a heavy smoker by any means, just a few a day, but i do miss it. The patch and gum worked for me. 6 weeks so far. And in case you are wondering, it still sucks. I don't have physical cravings, but at least once a day, I still want to smoke. I don't though.
