My LO is almost 4 months old. For about the past week, she has been choking and sputtering at the breast. She also pulls away often and fusses. I've always known I have a forceful letdown. I never leak or spray, but she certainly has had issues in the past at letdown. Her stools are more green than yellow (I think I also have a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance).
My concern is that she seems to be averse to eating now since it's such a chore for her.
We recently started daycare and so I am now pumping 2x/day while she is there.
Anyone have any tips on how to work through this? I have an appointment with my LC but not until next Tuesday.
In the meantime, I am going to try to express a bit of milk before she eats so that I'm not overfull and I will also try block feeding.
TIA
Re: Oversupply? Baby choking and sputtering.
Try and feed her in either an upright possition or with her on top of the breast (you reclining back). This is what my LC suggests.
