Ergo vs. Bjorn-Thoughts?

So we have a moby and a bjorn and Callie is not really a fan either one. My cousin just got the bjorn organic and loves it but I can't really find how it's different than the bjorn we already have. I'm considering the ergo but how is it different than the bjorn??

  • I love love love my Ergo. Better for mom's back & baby's hips, and you can use it a lot longer.

  • Both DS and I love our Ergo. We don't have a Bjorn but the one feature that I wish the aero could have is the ability to face DS forward. He's at the age now where he wants to see everything around him.

  • Out of these 2 I would definitely pick the Ergo for the same reasons as PP mentioned.

I think the Pikkolo can forward face if you are looking for that option.

  • The ergo is far superior to the bjorn, in my opinion, for comfort, weight distribution, proper placement of the baby, and longevity. Facing outward is not ideal for their little hips because it sort of keeps them strapped flat, instead of in a comfy seated position when they are facing in. And when they face in, they can still look side to side to see what is going on around them. Its not like they are forced to just look straight forward at your chest or back the whole time. I love my Ergo Sport because the fabric is more breathable so it doesnt get as hot (the ergo performance is the same way). If you are really looking for something to wear your baby on your back but allow them to see more around them, I would recommend a mei tai. You tie, instead of buckle, and because of that can choose the placement of the waist and put them up higher (so they can see over your shoulder). There are tons of brands, and they are not difficult at all to put on.
