Baby K'tan

Has anyone tried the Baby K'tan carrier?  It looks really comfortable and easy to put on.  Just wondering what others who have used it think of it?  Can you use it with newborn?  Does it help with breastfeeding?  Thanks!

Re: Baby K'tan

  • I'm a bit disappointed in the K'tan as it stretches out so much that DD ends up to low after just a little bit and there is no good way to adjust it.  It is easy to put on and pop in/out of though, harder for me to arrange to nurse in.

  • I like it - easy to pop on and off and light enough to throw into the diaper bag. Yes, you can use it for newborns in "kangaroo" hold, which is straight up and down with legs in froggy style. You can't carry them like a sling, though.

I have nursed in it twice - once while walking around in Costco and once while walking down the street.  It's not the easiest to setup, but it is do-able. In the other holds it might be easier, but DS' head control isn't good enough yet to try the other holds.

  • I loved mine when DD was younger. It was like a wrap but even easier and you can nurse in it but it might take some practice. I think the important thing with the K'Tan is to get the right size, if yours is too big it will strech and sag after baby has been in it awhile.

  • It was ok, but like PP's said, it stretched out too much.  Now I'm wondering if I can even use the one I have since after I deliver DS, I will be a good bit smaller than I was when I bought it... I may be looking into a woven wrap to go along with my mei tai Surprise
  • We LOVE our K'tan. as long as you follow their sizing and get the right fit, it is awesome. much easier to get on than a wrap and you can pop baby in the carrier in two seconds :) I breastfed in it all the time when lo was smaller.
