Corrine vs. Corinne

Which do you prefer? I like the way Corinne looks, but I feel like Corrine is more phonetically correct.

  • I prefer it spelled Corinne...Corrine looks off to me. If you want it pronounced Coh-RIN, I think the double 'n' indicates the emphasis is on the second syllable.

  • Corinne is the traditional spelling. I don't like Corrine at all.

  • I prefer Corinne, but I think that you're just going to have both spelling and pronunciation issues with this name.  Great name though.

  • I've always known (and just checked Behindthename and it backed me up) that Corinne is Ka-rin whereas Corrine is Ka-reen.

I like Corinne much better- both in spelling and pronounciation.

  • It's a french name, so the phonetic english spelling doesn't matter.

  • Go with the double N. It will help with the pronounciation of it. Some might pronounce Corrine as Corr-eeen, as in rhyming with Colleen, because there is more of an empahsis on the R's.

  • I spell my name Corinne and its pronounced Cor-een. BE prepared to have incorrect pronunciation. If you name it Corinne and mean Cor-reen it will often be called Cor-in and vise-versa. However I love that my name is unique and pretty!

  • Corinne. The other looks misspelled. It's kinda a pet peeve of mine.
