Anyone getting dizzy/foggy when exercising?

I have only attempted the gym 3 times so far and it is not going well. Each time I have walked instead of run and done a more mild weight training workout. When walking I feel like I am in a fog and almost breakout into a cold sweat. I feel dizzy and foggy. Afterwards I feel off all day. I make sure to each a protein heavy meal before and after so I know that is not the problem.

I talked to my OB today and they agreed no more gym for a few weeks and that I need to see my PCP just to make sure everything is ok. I have felt like this before when sick or various times during DS's pregnancy, so I am fairly sure it is pg related.

Anyone else? If so any solutions.

  • Just wanted to clarify 3 times since about 6 wks. Before I ran 3 times a week and did strenuous weight training twice a week.

  • Its been a while since I was in the first tri but I seem to recall this happening somedays, which where days I just ended up walking.  BUt it didn't happen consistently, so you might talk toy our doc...are you well hydrated, eating enough?  The body goes through a lot of changes in the first 12 weeks, and I found the gym much easier in the 2nd tri.  BUt talk to your OB/MW
  • This has happened to me when I haven't hydrated enough.  Do you drink water regularly?  Make sure you take a bottle of water/sports drink while you work out. and make sure you drink the entire thing.  Then when you get home, keep drinking water regularly.  Even if it's mild excercise you should start making a habit of it.
  • I talked to my OB and they want my to call my PCP that everything is ok physically just to verify that it is in fact pregnancy related. I am calling after they reopen.

I do drink tons of water, always have. In fact it is all I drink. I am thinking when I try to go again that I will go later in the day. Maybe I need extra now or something. Thanks for the advice. I also wonder if my version of mild is not as mild as I think it is. Baby steps I guess.

  • It might be related with what you are thinking it is, also check out on your BP levels. And yeah exercise needs to be strictly terminated.
