sea sponge tampons?

Anyone use these and want to share a review? The brand that was recommended to me was Jade & Pearl - not sure if there are others.

(Also I have tried the Diva Cup and it did not work for me - uncomfortable when in and when coming out, and I would have random big leaks. I do not have the cash to try out a bunch of different cups to find one that really works for me.)

Re: sea sponge tampons?

  • I have not tried the sea sponges as I didn't like the idea of having to replace them more frequently although of course some women love the sponges.

Here is a good list for comparisons of cups though if you decide to go that route in stead:  https://menstrualcupinfo.wordpress.com/menstrual-cup-brands/

  • I kind of had a mixed experience with the Diva Cup so I haven't used it in a while either. I don't think it was quite the right fit for me.
I do have the Jade & Pearl sea sponge tampons. I like them and really think they're worth a try. I've gotten out of the habit of using them but mostly just b/c I need a better/easier system for cleaning them. For me, there was sometimes a little leakage on heavy days (even with two) so on those days I'd only wear them if I was staying home, but for medium to light days/staying home they were great and saved a lot of money!

  • I have a pair of Jade and Pearl sea sponges and I LOVE them. They are easy to use and I've never had a problem with fit or leaks. There are several ways to clean them. I soak them in either apple cider vinegar or a hydrogen peroxide/water mixture but only after my cycle is over for the month. I can't say enough how easy and wonderful these are. Try them, try them, try them!
