hey everyone,
i am completely new to this... my first post! this is my first 2www and i have been on birth control on and off for 10 years. i stopped my birth control mid cycle (on our wedding night) and got AF 2 days later (1/2/12). i use to get it around the 15th of each month. however, i based my ovulation on my "new" cycle and counted from the 2nd of january. i didn't get AF on the 15th so i figured thats a good sign and that i was ovulating around then. i am currently 6dpo and i am wondering if the symptoms i am having could be related to conception/implantation or if it has to do with my hormones and being off birth control!??
on ovulation day i felt a sharp pain in my lower left abdomen. and over the last week i have become increasing tired. i also have had wierd twinges in my abdomen... like little bubbles. i get really hot at night. tonight i have started to get the worst headache ever and it wont go away! according to what i have been reading if i were to concieve implantation would be starting around day 7 -10 which is tomorrow.
i guess i am just wondering if anyone can give me some clues about TCC the first time off of birth control. I know my cycle may be messed up and that it may take awhile but i have been reading everyone elses symptoms past ovulation and i feel like i have been having them too. i guess time will tell!!! thanks!!
Re: first 2www after being on birth control
Also, if you're looking for tons of pregnancy (2ww) symptoms, you can check out this website. It creates something of an obsession, but is good information of other peoples actual experience.

And I agree with the PP about FF and TCOYF being great resources!

From what you said it sounds to me like you had a withdrawal bleed from stopping BCP but have you had a real period? It can take some women on average 2-3 to get their first post pill AF and as long as 6 months to a year. You could ovulate coming off the pill for the first time and get pregnant but without knowing when you O it's kinda tough. If you "count" you are basing this off a 28 day cycle and you may not have a 28 day cycle so you may not be 6 dpo. I would recommend using this cycle to learn about your body and if you are not KU, realize your cycles coming off the pill can be unpredictable and inconsistent. If you don't get AF in 60 days or a + hpt, I would recommend seeing your doctor.
It took me 2 months to get my first post pill period. I went to the doctor right before and she gave me an Rx for provera and blood work. Next freaking day I got AF. Since then my cycles have generally been 29 days and I am on my 3rd cycle temping/charting and my O date has been CD16 and CD14...so unless you temp, you really can't count for an O or go by physical symptoms because you could be imagining it or over thinking it.
Good luck and hope you get a BFP soon.
wow thank you so much for your help! i thought I got my real AF after stopping the pill because it felt, looked and lasted the same amount of time. and i haven't gotten it since then. i was only on the pill for about 8 months prior to stopping it in december. prior to starting it i was off of it for about 2 to 3 years... and i was a very typical 28-29 day cycle. but that could of changed by now.... thanks for giving me that heads up! i will def go to my doctor if i dont get a postive of AF in 60 days!
the charting and temping seems so complicated... do you know of a good online site where you can imput all of your information. im not too fond of the print out sheet from this site! thanks!!!!
Fertility friend. Click on my the ticker at the bottom of my siggy. It sounds complicated but you basically take your temp at the same time you wake up and put it in a chart. When you see a significant temp increase/shift it shows you ovulated. You can see this in my charts if you click the link as well. It's really easy and the only way to know if you ovulated. I recommend reading taking charge of your fertility. It'll definitely open your eyes to your body and TTC.
