Lots of lunches this week! Keep your eye out for cute Valentine's day stuff - I know my grocery store is full of it. PIP your cute lunches here! I promise it's worth the extra effort. When we were playing with toy food, my DD even made me a cute lunch - my heart just about melted!
Blueberries for Sal! An open-faced peanut butter sandwich (DD about fainted when she saw all the sprinkles), "blueberry hill," cottage cheese and Sal made from a Babybel cheese. In the "tin pail" are tomatoes and a bear container with a bear cookie. This was a HIT!
A rainy day is a big deal around here! Strawberries (one has an umbrella handle pick), homemade sealed sandwich with cheese umbrella and chocolate covered sunflower seeds, and baby carrots. Inside the sandwich is extra filling from stuffed bell peppers - rice, tomatoes, meat and peppers.
DD was especially crabby, so I decided to kill her with kindness. Blackberries and a grape, Babybel cheese with heart cutout, openfaced PBJ sandwich, peanut butter bar and inside the heart container are raisins.
I was feeling lazy so I used measuring cups! Leftover spaghetti with a tablespoon of Parmesan cheese, blackberries, tangerine "flower" with a tomato center, and a peanut butter bar. Her lunch totaled just under two cups. ; )
A monkey? Mini colander (World Market) filled with blueberries, tomato, halved grape for the eyes and halved Babybel for the ears. Cottage cheese, tangerine and Hawaiian roll for the rest of his body. DD ate this PLUS a banana, granola bar, raisins and peanut butter bar. Shocking.
Quick & easy flower lunch. Openfaced PB sandwich, raisins, snap pea crisps, grapes, tomato and Babybel cheese. Done in less than 5 minutes.
I almost didn't include this since it's not cute, but I wanted to show what a tightly-packed lunch looks like. This was an on-the-go lunch and it didn't shift at all because it was tightly packed and compartmentalized in a Sassy baby food container (BRU). On the left is a tangerine, squeezy applesauce and a few Annie's bunnies. On the right is a sandwich in a Hawaiian bun, contained in a cupcake wrapper because the blueberries were still rather wet. While the applesauce container is wasteful, I did not have to use a bunch of Ziploc baggies for the rest and the hard sided container keeps the food from being squished.
