I love this name, but I'm stuck on whether it should be AnnMarie (all one word) or Ann Marie (two words). If it's two, would I then have another middle name? If so...suggestions on a middle name? Also, what would be some nicknames for AnnMarie? I know people will want to shorten it.
Re: Middle name for AnnMarie?
I'm from the south where double names are fairly common. If you want her called Ann Marie then I would name her AnnMarie. Otherwise when people see the space they will assume the Marie is more optional, her legal middle initial will be M and so forth. I have a friend who is Jo Anne and always goes by both names. Her parents wanted it to be a double name because she's named after both of them- they did not want just plane Joanne. But she gets mail and phone calls for Jo Last Name all the time and it drives her crazy. She says her parents should have at least done Jo Anne Middle name.
So I'd say AnnMarie MN LN is the best bet. I'd pick a one or two syallable middle name, depending on your last name. Suggestions: AnnMarie Claire, AnnMarie Beth, AnnMarie Elaine, AnnMarie Elise, AnnMarie Jane, AnnMarie Kate.
BTW, I love AnnMarie but DH vetoed it.
not a fan of the name, but i don't think it's horrible or anything.
i think Ann Marie (with a space) looks better.
If you want her to be called annmarie than use it as one name.
i like it
I like it as one word.
MN suggestions: Victoria, Penelope, Christine, Olivia, Juliet, Clara
I think you need a hyphen so that people understand it's one name. I say go with no middle name, or choose a family surname (your maiden name, or the maiden name of a grandmother maybe?) to avoid sounding too list-y.
FWIW, I am an Annie, and I have always loved it. It is not super-common, but is easy to pronounce and ages well.
