  Do you have a copy of Baby Bargains?  I'd go pick one up.  We have a BabyMod from Walmart because the parent company (at the time, 2009) hadn't had any recalls.

  Ikea cribs are generally inexpensive and well-rated. DD has one (probably $200 including mattress) and it has held up much better than DSs crib did (closer to $600 with mattress).

  We bought it at Burlington Factory Store for $269. Putting it together was super easy and it looks great Can't wait to have a baby laying in it!

  Look on craigslist. You can find some great buys for cheap.

  I bought a Pali Crib and dresser for $350 (for both). It's solid italian hardwood and it is in fantastic shape.  It would normally retail for $1400.

  Though I have the money to buy new, I just can't see spending that kind of money on furniture that won't be used that long.  I'm a fan of buying used if you can find a really great buy for cheap.

  Just make sure it has all of the parts, it is sturdy and that it is exactly what you want.  CL is flooded with crib sets.
