Recommend your Montgomery County, MD OBGYN

I'm looking to find a new OB before getting pregnant (hopefully this summer), I'd prefer a female, and I'm hoping for someone that could deliver at Shady Grove.  Any recommendations (good or bad) would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks ladies!

    I go to Simmonds, Martin & Helmbrecht. They have offices in White Flint, Damascus and Gaithersburg. I really am happy with them :) They service Shady Grove hospital.

    I second this. I had great experiences with some of their doctors.

    Thanks ladies - I have heard great things about Dr. Helmbrecht - has anyone delivered at SGAH with Dr. Helmbrecht?  I wasn't sure if she delivered there or if she was only at FMH?

    Dr. Apgar at the CWC office with Drs. Margolis, Wolfgram, Alam, etc.  I've seen her for a few years and loved her.  Had a great experience with my pregnancy and her delivery of DD at Shady Grove.  They have an office in Bethesda and the Rockville office is next door to SG hospital.

    I go to the midwives associated with Simmonds, Martin & Helmbrech (I'm sure I messed up the spelling, sorry).  The midwives are a group of 4 or 5 women, of which I met 3 of the current ones (since I had DS one of the midwives I met decided to be a SAHM).  I absolutely loved all of them and their approach to every appintment, and labor.  They made me feel like the entire process was collaborative and none of my questions or thoughts or suggestions were ever stupid. I actually miss them, lol.

    ETA: the pracitce is Midwifery Care Associates, and I found them from other bumpie suggestions. I also loved how they made DH feel welcome at every appointment and in the delivery room.

    I used this practice as well.  Dr. Apgar is female and I have heard good things about her but she was having a baby when I was having Molly so we went with Dr. Margolis.  He was great - a good listener and really took his time with me and my repeat C-section.  He also has a great sense of humor which DH loved and I loved his nurse at the CWC Bethesda office.

    She delivered my daughter at Shady Grove three years ago.  I'd love it if she were the doc on call for this next baby since I adore her.  But I also love another doc at the practice as well.  Dr. Jones is absolutely terrific and I would be really happy if she was on call for my next delivery.
