previous removal of uterine septum

Hello everyone! I had a septum in my uterus and it was removed hysteroscopically in June. I am now 6 weeks pregnant and going strong. I was wondering though if you have any stories regarding successful pregnancies after having this surgery. There is still .25mm of remnant septum left which can always be a possible conflict although my risk is much lower than it was pre-septum removal.

  • Hi,

I had uterine septum removed (quite big) and the docs told me to wait 3 months before trying. I waited 9 months as I always felt the wound and slight discomfort. I am now 19 weeks pregnant. Everything so far seems to be going well. There is still a slight edge where the septum was (i.e. the uterus has kind of a heart shape), but doc says it won't be on the way of the baby growing, and I should have no higher risks than any other pregnant woman who never had this problem. He had operated 40 or so septums in his career. Before I had my surgery I read a lot about this problem, but very little success stories afterwards, I think people forget to come back to the boards once the problem goes away. I wish you all the best, I think you shouldn't worry.

    S.
