Severe vomiting after embryo transfer

Hi everyone -

Has anyone experienced severe vomiting and abdominal pain after transfer? I had my ET yesterday and got really sick last night.  Now I'm really worried that all the vomiting might impacted the embryos. I may be stressing for no reason, but I would appreciate any insight based on your experience.

  • No, did you tell your doctor? As long as you rested with your legs up I'm sure your ok!

  • I'd suggest calling the advice nurse, but please don't worry. Our RE and all the paperwork assured us that there is no way that the embryos can be harmed once they are inside you - things specific things listed were coughing and gastrointestinal distress.

    Good luck to you!

I second this! My paperwork had the same info (we'd tried to freeze embryos before I began chemo, but the timing didn't work out... my cycle was too messed up).

That being said, it's still a good idea to speak with one of the nurses. She may have advice to help you feel better, and will want to make a note of it in your records.
