Wraps/Slings that can be used from birth?

Which do you suggest that can be used right away?

I was going to go with the Maya Wrap Ring Sling, but someone said that you can't use a ring sling until the baby has head control, is this correct?

I was hoping to use that one at first at follow it up later with a baby k'tan and beco carrier. Maybe I need an educational web-site? Thanks!

You can learn loads about BW on https://www.thebabywearer.com/index.php?page=choosinglinks. You can use a wrap from birth. Moby (a stretchy wrap) is mainstream, but if you like wrapping and want to do it after baby weighs about 15lb, you'll want a woven wrap instead. A K-tan is kind of like a pre-wrapped stretchy wrap, so it will also max out at 15lbs. I am not a big fan of them, I think they are hard to get the right fit, but my BFF loves hers.

As for a Maya wrap--and ring slings in general--you can use them from newborn, but you want to avoid positions that put baby's chin to chest or don't have baby high enough to kiss. It is hard to do that if baby is reclining, but you can put baby sitting up and have the fabric high enough to support her neck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdP_KcN20uw

Ring slings get awkward when baby gets heavier but is not supporting his own weight yet. Then they come back in handy when baby wants up and down. I have back problems, so the assymetry of a ring sling hasn't worked well for me, but my DH uses the Maya sometimes around the house. (When out, he prefers a mai tai and he wraps sometimes.)

I am a Baby K'Tan fan... and we used it from birth until five months. We then switched to other options.
