Constipation with Potty Training?

Has anyone ever experienced this?  We've been potty training for a while now, and we've been doing great except with the #2.  She's gone twice on the potty, but the past week she's been complaining that her belly hurts.  She's been complaining so much about it we actually took her to the ped.  They agreed theres nothing wrong, just the constipation, but she continues to complain of it.  She has been going every day, but she just hasn't been herself.  Any recs for this?

Thanks

  • Try to get lots of water down her. Prunes and prune juice, apple/pear juice, high fiber stuff like oatmeal. We have to give DD some miralax every few days to keep things moving. GL!

  • thanks! I will try the miralax and prunes.  We've been doing a ton of apple juice with a squeeze of corn syrup (probably not great, but its helping her).  Ped said it should be fine as well.
  • We always tried to get as much fiber in DD's diet, but she was constipated.  I give her Pedialax fiber gummies every single day, with lots of water.  It is so important to make sure they aren't constipated, esp while potty training - you don't want them associating going to the bathroom, with pain.

The gummies are really convenient and they keep DD very regular.  It is just extra fiber, so it isn't like giving medication.
