A couple quick questions for oral progesterone users

When did you stop taking progesterone pills and did you ween off of them or stop cold turkey? Naturally, I am a little nervous about stopping my pills. I will stop taking them in 3 days (I will be exactly 12 weeks). I am taking progesterone in the form of one 200mg capsule on a nighly basis, so I have no way of cutting them in half or anything. Did anyone have any problems from abruptly stopping? Thanks.

My doc told me to stop cold turkey at 12 weeks but I was nervous too. I asked this same question several months ago, and a couple women said they tapered down. I went from taking 200mg x 2 a day to just once a day for a week. I had no issues, though I'm pretty sure I could have stopped cold turkey and been just fine. I've heard most women don't have issues stopping all at once.

If your doc said to stop at 12 weeks, you should be fine! I know it's scary. I dropped down to just one 200mg pill with no problems.

I was on mine until 14 weeks. When I asked my doctor if it was ok to stop cold turkey he said yes because the baby umbilical cord would have fully taken over several weeks before that. I have had no problems with spotting or bleeding, etc.
