Trying to Get Pregnant

Joe Paterno

What awful circumstances :(

ETA: I'm from near State College, and two news stations reported his passing! Apparently his sons are saying he is still fighting (which I hope is the case!)

Thoughts and prayers for the Paterno family!

  • Do we know for sure that this is true? The Huffington Post is saying that reports that he died are not true...

  • The latest I could find is just that he's in serious condition.

Of course, based on this post I already texted MH:

     Joe Paternity died.

    Damn auto correct.

  • As a Penn State alum I'm very sad to see the news about his condition deteriorating so rapidly. I honestly think he lost his will to live after being terminated.

    Agreed, 100%

I agree. I graduated from Penn State and the news of his condition deteriorating this evening from another alumna was heartbreaking.

  • Local news here (about 2 hours from State College) is reporting that he is still alive,  but that he is critically ill.  Vigils are being held on the campus for him.  No matter what has happened in his career at PSU, I still feel bad for his health status, and what his family is going through.

What I am going to say may be considered possibly flameworthy..

I am very sorry for what Joe Paterno is going through. Cancer of any sort is devastating, and I am sorry for that. I have lost several family members to cancer, and have several cancer survivors in my family. It doesn't get any easier, and I know their pain too real.

However. I am sure the young boys that were raped while Joe Paterno (and many others at Penn State) looked away have felt like they have lost their will to live many times since their abuse happened.

As far as Joe Paterno's termination from Penn State goes, I am tired of people making him out to be the victim here. In my not so humble opinion, it's shameful.

THANK YOU!! I live about a 2 hours from Penn State and many friends/family members went there (I did not). I swear the local media has made him out to be the victim.. It's on the news about daily. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thinks this way.
