After being a nanny for 7 years we have decided that when we have kids I would like to open in home child care program. It would be very small my child and two others.
I?m just wondering what you guys have budgeted for child care?
Would a program as small as this appeal to you?
What would you be prepared to spend on child care like this?
Thanks for the feedback guys
Re: in home child care
I would prefer more kids just so DD would have more kids to interract with. DD is currently 1 of 10 kids in her class and after she turned 2, the cost went down to $200 a week.
good luck
DS1 (3.5) and DS2 (2) go to an in-home daycare. DS1 goes full time and DS2 goes part time. My main reason for having the boys go is for social reasons but for DS1 it is also to get used to larger groups of kids. Right now, a small ratio is ideal; however I would prefer maybe 5 kids total vs 3 as it won't really allow for a whole lot of interaction with multiple kids (thinking if it is a newborn and maybe 2 toddlers). So 3 kids total I would not be interested in. The current daycare my boys go to she watches up to 5 kids and she currently has a set of boy siblings (my kids), a set of girl siblings (pretty close in age to my kids), and an 8mos old. I pay $70/week for full time and her part time rate is $50 (but I pay $40 because she is having me use her drop in rate for DS2 for the amount of hours she actually watches him right now).
For here, $60-$70/week seems to be the average price for in-home....maybe $100-120/week but if I am paying that much I'd take them to a larger place since $100-$120/week seems average for centers where I live.
