I was told I had a subchroinic bleed during my first ultrasound. By my second u/s it was 1/2 the size which was encouraging. My OB told me either the bleed will reabsorb, stay the same or could come out in the form of bright red blood.
Well, this am I had a little bright red blood, and obviously I am freaking out. I'm not sure if I should call OB, or try to relax and wait until Tuesday for my next u/s. It was only one small instance of the bleeding and then it stopped. Obviously my mind is going crazy and Im praying I am not miscarrying again.
ANY ADVICE?
Re: anyone have a subchrionic bleed?
I was dx with a SCH on New Years. That Friday the OB confirmed it and then the following monday the bright red and clot came out. Since then, I've had brown bleeding the whole time.
As long as it goes away or turns brown, you're good. Just keep taking it easy and remain in contact with your Dr if you feel concerned.
I have a large SCH that was diagnosed at 13 weeks when I experienced some pretty dramatic bleeding. The SCH was 2 x 2.7 cm in the ER and twice that size two days later on a follow up ultrasound. Two weeks later, it covered the entire cervix and posterior of my uterus. I was referred to the MFM specialist for a better look and she confirmed the size. Generally, though, she wasn't terribly concerned. While mine is large, she said it could be there for the duration - or go away in a week. I might bleed intermittently the entire time it's around - and I have been for over 8 weeks now. At my 20w a/s follow up, it was down to about 4.5 cm on its longest side.
LO doesn't seem fazed and was measuring a few days ahead at the MFM exam. My placenta is anterior, so the SCH doesn't seem to be putting it at risk. With the exception of a couple days rest back at 13 weeks when I was diagnosed, I've not been on any restrictions and able to do all my normal activities. I don't exercise, but that's mostly because I'm lazy. My Doppler really helps reassure me and I'm now feeling movement, so that helps, too.
My doc did want a call for bright red blood, but it may very well be the SCH resolving.
Great advice here. I had a small SCH found around 6 weeks, and it went away by my next u/s 3 days later. I saw brown blood from it about 5 days later, which lasted for 4 days.

yep, had one really early at just 6 weeks that was found because I had some gushing of red blood. Baby was super small then and SCH was big at 4-5cm, so it was basically 3x the size of baby's sac. My OB said she hadn't ever seen a pregnancy make it with a bleed that size, that early.
I'm still here and baby is doing great! The bleed caused some more brown spotting but is gone now and it did shrink away slowly each week on the ultrasound.
Hang in there---lots of success stories out there. If I were you I would probably still call the office anyway, just to talk it out. But I love getting that extra reassurance and blood is ALWAYS so scary to see.
