Sizing for Bravado tanks

I am registering for some Bravado nursing tanks online, and I am not sure what size I should get- my options are 32DD or 34F/G. I am currently pregnant, and before pregnancy, I was 32DD or DDD, depending on the bra. I assume that my boobs will get a bit bigger while nursing, but I don't want a bra that is too big?

What would you recommend?

Re: Sizing for Bravado tanks

  • I'd get the larger size. How many weeks are you right now? Everyone's different but you'll probably be a size larger than your 3rd trimester size in those early weeks/months.

  • PS- I lived in my Bravado nursing tanks during my maternity leave. They were comfy for me and I bought the 34 F/G. Pre-pregnancy I was a 34 DD.

  • I would wait on the Bravado tanks. For the price of them, if it doesn't fit you're going to be irritated that it doesn't fit or have to deal with returning it. Wait until a few weeks after having your LO before ordering one of these. I would get a couple of cheaper tanks from Target to hold you over until your bra size regulates.

FWIW, I bought on a month or so ago in the size that I am wearing in bras. It it rather tight and I should probably have gotten a size larger.
  • I was a 32 DD/DDD like you before pregnancy and BFing.  Toward the end of pregnancy I was a 32F/G.  I'd order one Bravado bra/tank b/c there is no way IMHO that you will be able to make a Target tank work.  They won't be big enough or supportive enough.  I'd start with just ordering one to make sure you like it, it fits, etc. and then order more.  I practically live in the simple Bravado bra (I forget what it's called) but it has more general sizing, so I'm in a S++.  I wear it around the house and to sleep in.  I have one of the nicer ones for work and going out.  I never really did the tanks b/c I'm always cold and found it warmer to wear the nursing bra under a shirt and just pull up the bottom of the shirt to nurse (baby and nursing pillow kept the belly warm!).

I agree.  There's really no way to say how large your breasts are going to get.  I went up one size during first trimester and my breasts didn't get any bigger during pregnancy.  (Meaning when I delivered I was still up only 1 cup size.)  My milk came in and my breasts grew 3 cup sizes.  Which means if I had tried to estimate based on my pregnancy breasts I would have some very expensive tanks I couldn't even begin to squeeze my breasts into.  And on my BMB there has been a range of people not going up even one cup size, to people shooting up 4 cup sizes.

  • I got fitted at 35 weeks & then ordered 1 size larger. If you can wait that's what I would do, Bravado tanks are expensive & you don't want to have the wrong size.
