We are on the market for an SUV that can comfortably accommodate two car seats. If you can recommend or "de-recommend" a vehicle I would greatly appreciate it.
We are looking at the Nissan Murano, Toyota Highlander, Volvo XC90, Hyundai Santa Fe.
Please share, we're open to suggestions. Thanks!

Re: SUV owners w/ 2+ kids: What do you drive?
My friend with twins has a Nissan Murano and can fit two car seats comfortably in the back seat.
I have a Ford Escape and can also fit 2-3 car seats in my back seat.
The Toyota Highlander is great, BUT the middle seat is hardly a seat at all so if you are looking to eventually add a third child, you might have issues down the road trying to get three across.

My Chevy Tahoe is the perfect size for two kids. For three, we'll be moving up to the Chevy Suburban.
I had the Toyota Highlander with just one kid. It was great for one, but (imo) a little small for two car seats and a double stroller - we wouldn't have had much room left over at all. Plus, as the PP said, the middle seat was tiny. I'm petite and it would've been a squeeze to sit back there between 2 car seats.

I have a '10 Subaru Forester and love it. Plenty of room for 2 carseats and still a lot of trunk space. DH is tall so it was important that the carseats could rear face and still have a lot of leg room for him in the driver or passenger seats. Some SUV's didn't have as much leg room it seemed once we put the Britax in RF'ing. We also live in the mountains so we get a lot of snow which Subaru's are great in. (Not sure where you live.)
Also, everyone I know with a Highlander loves them.

We have a Honda Pilot. Love it! If you plan on having any more kids, you'll have plenty of room for 3 carseats too. Plus there's a 3rd row seat in case you want to have others ride along!
If you're stopping at two, then I would recommend the Honda CRV, the Toyota Highlander, and the Mazda CX7.
HTH!
