Ladies, I have called and scheduled appt's for Partners in Pediatrics, Southlake and Wayzata Childrens Clinic... have any of you been to any of these places... thoughts? recs on a Dr. any help or thoughts would be much appreciated!
Love love love Pat Zajac at South Lake Peds Children's West (Minnetonka). She is a CPNP and lactation consultation and has always answered all of our questions, spending as much time as we need/she can with us. We just had our 9 month appt. on Monday and I just loved the way she interacted with DS (first appt. that he was actually able to 'interact'). I can't say enough about how much I like Pat:)
Gotta admit that I love love love love Pat Zajac at South Lake Peds as well. She is just amazing. I could go on and on with how amazing she is. We see her for every. single. appointment.
We take both kids to Wayzata Children's Clinic. I prefer Dr. Otto at the Spring Park location and we do all of our wellness checks with her. We've also seen Dr. McGuinn and Dr. Humbert at the Chaska locations and really like them. I'm not a huge fan of Dr. McHugh (I think he's at Mtka and Chaska but not 100% on that). They have some walk in hours at certain clinics, different times throughout the week and have some weekend walk in hours too. I think they are open for about 3 hours on Sat. in Mtka and 3 hours on Sun. in Chaska.
I didn't like South Lake. We could never get into the office near us and when I did go there it was hectic, to put it kindly. Oh, the ped I had picked I never got to meet either (went there 3 or 4 times before we switched peds).

Hmm weird, we are typically the only ones in the waiting room at our appts! Would you be willing to share the location for the OP? We haven't actually had an appt. with any of the peds because we like Pat so much, but I could understand the frustration if you wanted to meet with one. Did you have an appt. with the ped and they couldn't make it?
I take DD to Wayzata Children's Clinic at the Minnetonka location. Her ped is Dr. Benson, and I really like him. He's very practical and spends a lot of time with us and makes us feel like we are important to him vs. rushing in and out. I do like the clinic, and they also have walk-in for sick kids instead of having to take baby to urgent care. They also gave us a huge binder to keep all of her records and go through milestones with us at each visit, I feel like they are very organized and have their act together.
We found him by getting a recommendation from the doctors at the hospital after she was born.

Yeah, that's weird to me too. We go to the EP location and only once or twice the waiting room had a lot more than a handful of people waiting. Just last week, we had to go to the Minnetonka West location as last minute appointment and their waiting room was empty as well.

We go to Southlake in EP and love it. We see both Welte (CNP and lactation consultant) as well as Dr. Dewey. We love both of them and are always so helpful and caring towards Aubrey. We know that she's in great hands with both of them and infact on non- well check visits, we have seen several of the other doctors (including Pat as mentioned above) and they have been great as well!

Thanks for all the recommendations ladies... I have an appointment to Meet Dr. Nichols at Partners in Peds, Garvis at Southlake in Plymouth and Benson at Wayzata childrens... all helpful information!!!
I love Liz Haas (a CPNP and LC) at South Lake Pediatrics. She works out of both the Plymouth and Children's West locations. We started out going to the office in St. Louis Park (still seeing Liz Hass and also Dr. Pizey), but followed Liz when the St. Louis Park office closed and the doctors/nurses went to other locations. Liz has given us the names of some of the peds that she thought I would "click" with the most, but we just keep seeing Liz instead of actually scheduling with one of the peds. DS is 2 1/2, so we've seen Liz quite a bit, and I will be going to Liz when I have my new LO in April.

Please do not use Dr. Nichols. He is horrible with small children and has horrible bedside manner. We've seen him twice through ReadyCare and I call ahead now to check and see who the doctor is just because I don't want to see him.
He is literally the only doc who I've had problems with at PIP. Everyone else has been great. We see Dr. Savitt who sees patients at Plymouth and Calhoun. Love love love love him.
A friend of mine uses Dr Garvis at Southlake and I think she likes him a lot.
I also was not a big fan of SouthLake Peds ( actually loved our original pedi there but didn't find another we liked) and switched to Southdale Peds instead. But I never used the Plymouth location.

I went to the EP location twice. The first time was while I was pregnant and meeting the ped for the first time (Jewett) and he apparently couldn't be bothered to make the appointment. There were kids screaming, banging on the fish tank and jumping on the seats at that time too. It was a great first impression. I saw the NP twice at the Minnetonka location and liked her, but both those times we had tried to get an appt in EP and couldn't (and we weren't calling like 2 days before trying to get in and also tried both times to see jewett). I don't remember all the details. My memory sucks and it was over a year ago.
We're at Southdale peds too (Edina mostly). DS's ped is Lefevere. He's awesome. We also took DS in for a sick visit and another ped saw him and he was awesome too (don't recall his name sorry).
Re: Ped Recommendations
so do we:)
We have been going to PIP, but only to the Calhoun Office. We LOVE Dr. Klein.

Abby - interesting. We could never get an appt at EP SouthLake either so, we always went to one of the Mtka locations.
I met with Jewett 2 times and he was ok - old school. He made a couple comments I didn't like - he just wasn't a perfect fit.
There were other issues there that caused us to leave however.
