  Looks like the general concensus is 12 months unless your child/family has a history of food allergies.

  thanks! we don't have any food allergies in our family but I will hold off for another week or so

  I thought the warning was for all nuts. But like PP's said I thought it was only until 12 months. Jay hat nutella this passed weekend while we were at MIL's he loved it.

  I'm just going to assume that is your crazy pregnancy hormones talking.

   I thought it was 12 months too although DH decided 11 months was close enough and has been giving her anything he can get his hands on with chocolate or peanut butter.  She had a mini peanut butter cup today and loved it.  We don't have any Nutella right now but if we did and I was eating some, I would give it to her.

  I always thought it was 2 years, that's what my pedi told us as well. I will go with 12 months though now. We have no allergies on either side of our family, food or otherwise, so I was never real worried about it anyway.

  I think I "heard somewhere" that "research" says Nutella shouldn't be given to kids under the age of.... 13? 14?
  

  aka.. I'm not sharing my Nutella until he can fully appreciate it. Kid eats dog food. He obviously will not appreciate it yet.

  The pedi said at one it was fine. We havent tried nutella or pb yet.  She said to just spread it super thin.

  DH and DS eat nutella and waffles together almost every morning while I get ready for work. Probably not the healthiest, but I love listening to the two of them and seeing DS's messy face when they're done. It's their "guy" time.

  I have a friend with nut allergies and she has her worst reactions to hazelnuts. My pedi said a year for nuts, but we started at 11months when DH gave him a bite without thinking. Luckily it turned out fine, except that DS became an addict almost instantly.
