TTC after 35

I think I'm out...for now.

I started spotting, and highly suspect AF is on the way. I'm taking a self-imposed three months off of treatments while we save money, decide if we'll do any more treatment cycles and look into adoption. Oh and to lose the weight I've gained during treatments. I'm surprisingly calm about the plan. We originally decided to quit treatments when I turn 38, but neither of us are quite ready to give up just yet. My DH said, does this mean we can have sex for fun again? Yes, honey. It's really sad that TI makes sex unfun.

So I'll probably start temping again and OPKs (maybe) and just trying naturally for three months while we save some $$$. I may lurk more than post (not that I'm a super active poster anyway).

Here's hoping for some kind of miracle! Good luck to us all. 2012 has to be better than 2011, right?

Baby #1 due 2/10/14!

  • It's funny how, going in 3 years ago, we said we'd never do injectibles let alone IVF. Now we're talking about pros and cons of IUI vs. IVF vs. adoption. How time and struggles change your thinking!

  • Sorry you didn't get a positive this cycle, but I'm glad you are feeling okay with your plan.

We have also extended our window because we never thought we would still be trying for # 2 for this long.
