Austin Babies

what would you think? opinions please.

Sunday my son is turning two and we are throwing him a party with all his little cousins. I had favors for the toddlers and elementary aged kids of goldfish, ringpops, straw cups and whistles.  Most of the guests will be under 10.  Do you think it would be rude of me not to give favors to the guests siblings that are in middle school?  I think once you hit middle school you should cry about getting a baby goody bag.  Would you be hurt if your middle schooler didnt get a favor?

Re: what would you think? opinions please.

  • I don't have a middle schooler, but I can't imagine anyone having a problem with that.  I think favors are kind of silly anyway.  I give them for kid parties but I always kind of wonder if the parents would rather I didn't.  lol.

  • I'd probably have candy or stuff that appealed to them just out and accessible. Not necessarily goody bags. Since older kids and teens can get greedy, I might recommend putting names on the bags so that big kids don't run off with them and the littles are left without.
  • If you specifically invited them then, yes, you should favor bags for them.  If they're tag-along guests (the parents asked if it was okay to bring them, etc.) then it is probably okay not to have them.  But if you choose not to have them for the older kids, I would be careful about leaving the bags out for guests to take as they leave...if an older kid snags one on the way out you won't have enough for the little kids!
