I know it's still pretty early, but have you and your spouse ever talked about what features from the two of you that you hope your baby will get? Just for fun of course, we will all love our babies no matter what they look like, but it's always fun to see which of those features they actually get once they are born! My husband is hoping our baby will have my green eyes, and I am hoping our baby gets daddy's red hair! What are some things you and your spouse/SO are hoping for?

My DH hopes the baby has my eyes. He is blind in one eye and is just terrified that the baby will be also. I personally think if I had a complete duplicate of my DH I'd be perfectly happy. Of course he wants a little me...

With our first we were hoping she'd get the recessive blue eyes (we both have brown) and she did. I was hoping she'd get DH's lips and she did.

With this one, we are assuming he will have brown hair and brown eyes, I am really hoping he gets DH's height. I am 5ft.

Yes we have lol Even my mom has talked about it. My DH is Peruvian...he has black hair, brown eyes. Tanned skin and a dimple on his left cheek. I am White.....blonde hair, greyish blue eyes, light skin. We have talked about our baby having his black hair, his tanned skin, his dimple and my greyish blue eyes. My mom wants the baby to have my DH's cupid lips lol

We hope that she looks more like me and my side of the family because DH has a sister that looks almost exactly like him, and well.. she's just fug and would probably make a great linebacker for a football team.

I really want Ella to have his gorgeous blue eyes, but my head... DH has a humungous head and keeps on harassing me that the baby will have a ginormous head and I won't be able to get her out... mostly joking, I'm sure!

Other than that, we have similar features, similar colouring, so I'm sure Ella will look a lot like both of us!

My husband has a huge head too, and it a tall man. I am so afraid that our baby will be huge!

We have always said boys DH's side for height and girls my side. DS is following that pattern so far. DH jokes that they don't get my stubborn streak but he has one just as bad. I would like DH eye color or the recessive blue/green but most like the baby will have big brown eyes

Im extremely hopeful he'll have DH's green eyes. Also, I hope he has DH's thick chestnut hair. I hope the baby has my skin, as my husband as been plagued with intense eczema for his entire life, and I've always had great skin.

My DH is hispanic, but with light brownish greenish eyes, one of his sisters has the same eyes as my DH, and the other has blue blue eyes, which is recessive in both his parents' families. I am blonde hair and blue green eyes, so we are hoping she will have colored eyes! Second choice would be blonde hair with the brown eyes, but I think the colored eyes is a better shot... I just hope she looks like me a little because DH's family has very strong genes. My MIL, DH, and his nephew all look pretty much interchangeable in their baby pictures. It's kind of freaky!

I hope Archer can be tall and muscular like his daddy. We agree the poor little guy will end up with acne and glasses like we both did as teens. I hope he has my teeth (straight, good size) and not his dad's smaller teeth that needed braces. DH and I both have green-blue eyes and sandy colored hair (I dye mine dark auburn), so that's pretty well set. I think we both have ugly feet, so poor kid has no luck with being a foot model. Based on his sonogram, we know already he has my long-fingered hands.

We both have blue eyes, so we think LO will too! We're hoping that LO will have my height. The u/s showed that he has a little nose and high cheek bones, so we're thinking he's going to look like me. Smile

We are hoping that his Irish roots don't give him red hair. (We're really hoping our future daughter will!)

If we have a son this time, we are naming him Preston, but if we have another boy in the future, we are naming him Archer! I just love that name!

DH said he wants LO to have my eyes and cheekbones. I want it to have DH's height, eyelashes.

As long as LO doesn't have DH's caterpillar eyebrows. Stick out tongue

EDIT: I forgot one... DH has tiny ears though I have an elf ear (pointed/folded weird) I think I would rather LO have my ears.

We have the same coloring for the most part. I am part Italian so olive skin, but we we both have brown hair and brown eyes. We are both short so no future NBA star to be born! : ) I hope our baby looks like me, but he/she is as smart and has the determination of my BF. He is a former fighter pilot and now about to be a surgeon (at 42). My looks, his brains and we are in good shape!

But yeah, we definitely have and so have our friends - DH and I are complete opposites appearances-wise (well, for people of the same race) - he's super pale, REALLY blond, dark blue eyes, thin face, high cheekbones. I have brown hair and eyes and a round face. We both have relatives with each other's features, though, so regardless of what's dominant and recessive his features could still very well trump mine. Basically, I'm hoping that baby at least gets his super thick healthy hair, and he wants her to have brown hair and his blue eyes.

I am not too concerned with eye color to be honest. It seems like everyone on here would rather their child have blue/green eyes. What is wrong with brown? I have brown eyes/ DH has green. DD has brown and they so pretty. Especially with her hair color. If this one has brown eyes, I will be thrilled.

For me, what I am excited about is seeing how this one looks the same/different from DD. Also, I am adopted, so having children is really special to me b/c I have no clue who I look like, nor did I have anyone that looked like me until I had DD (and this baby).

The genes on DH's side run pretty strong, so I think this baby will have blond hair and light eyes (we both have hazel/green eyes). We are both tall 5'10 for DH and 5'11" for me so this will be one tall baby.

I kind of hope this LO gets my teeth, and my leaner frame.

I tell my husband that I took his cute face and put it on our baby. I have red hair and his is blond, so everybody is pretty convinced we'll have a ginger and it will be the palest child known to man.

There are so many different eye colors in our families that who knows what he/she will get. Mine are gray and his are the nicest hazel. I really hope babycakes gets his shapely lips and not my birdlips.

My husband is 6'8", and I'm 5'4". I'm hoping to have tall people because I think they are so gorgeous.

So basically, we're expecting a giant ginger with pretty eyes.

We have more discussed what features we hope the baby doesn't get. We both have larger noses, and are both on the short side (I'm 5'4", DH is 5'8"). I'm hoping the baby has blue or green eyes, which should happen because DH, myself, both his parents and my dad have blue or green eyes.

DH hopes baby has my eyes. I want baby to have his hair & eyelashes (they're curly & long, they look terrific on him, but would look even cuter on our little girl ).

Other than that, we're pretty objective. Neither of us cares if baby gets my nose or his or teeth/smile, etc.

We both have the same kind of small frame (petite & skinny), so we don't really care about that either.

Well, my DH has a flat head...his entire scalp is a cowlick...so I could do without both of those features. : ) He does have one dimple though, and I hope our baby gets that.

I a smooshy nose (seriously the front of it can be smashed to flat because the cartilage is so soft), and I think that would be fun to pass on...the smoosh nose. : )

Oh, and my eye lashes. DH's are non-existent.

I have ringlet curly hair, but DH's genes won out and DD has stick straight hair. Since we're having another girl, DH and I (and my MIL) all hope this one gets my dimples and curls. DH and I haven't talked about this feature, but he has long, skinny legs and mine are short and not to skinny, so I really hope this LO gets his legs. We both have blue green eyes, brown hair, small noses and smallish ears, so I would be surprised if this LO had something other than that.

My DH wants the baby to have my "big brown eyes", and of course I want the baby to have his green/gray eyes.

We both are praying it doesn't have my curly hair (which my grandma prayed for... Dang it grandma!!!).

We are both fairly hairy people so we have discussed the option of this LO coming out looking like a little monkey. I sure hope, esp. if its a girl, she gets my moms genes on that one.... that woman barely has had to shave her legs her whole life! Lucky!

So far the only thing we've talked about is how we feel bad for our kid as we will be having a little monkey...literally. DH is of Canadian decent and I'm Italian. We're both quite hairy. Poor kid!

I would love for it to have dark hair and blue eyes. That is from hubby! I have dark brown/dark brown so that's fine too. I would love for it to have my skin (DH had baaaad acne growing up and was on acutane). As for height, girl-my height, boy-DH height. I also really want the baby to have my smile...DH has a smile that is great when genuine, but really crappy in pictures...lol! Unfortunately, the baby is pretty much screwed with bad eyes, and crappy sinuses. Sorry baby!

I hope LO will get DH's eyes and my hair. Plus DH has my MIL's hair which I hate with a passion. If it's a boy I hope he gets DH's height and if it's girl I hope she gets to be a few inches shorter than I am (I'm 5'10" and DH is 6'5").

I'm really hoping that they both get my hubby's nose. He's got a very cute nose, and my original one was not cute. It's decent now, but that's after surgery. Unfortunately they won't get chins from either one of us. I'll be curious to see if they are blonde like me or brunette like hubby.

DH is Samoan so I'm hoping DD will have his Asian-like eyes, long eylashes and ridiculously high cheekbones. I'm black/white and although my hair is curly, it's really thin and doesn't grow long so I'm hoping DD has his 5 sisters' long thick wavy hair. Eyes will definitely be brown. Even though my mom has blue eyes, I think he would have to have someone on his side with them, too.. Hoping for his chin. Mine is weak and a bit receding and have ALWAYS been self-conscious of it since a boy pointed it out. DH has a great jaw/chin so hoping she gets that, too. He's 6-4 and I'm 5-6 so not sure what height she'll be. DS is tall for his age. DS looks more like me but yet's he's perfect looking to me so I'm sure DD will be, too.

I am hoping for DH's Teeth and height. Other than that she can have my hair which is slightly curly and more than likely brown eyes, preferrably big like mine, but like both of us. We kinda of look alike so I think our little girl will reflect us both.
