  I had it the first time.  I had to watch for early signs of labor and call immediately and not wait.  The were concerned about the cord and birth....  The sent me for another ultra scan to check on other reasons why it may be too much fluid.  But some people just produced too much.  I was also measuring big.  All in all my water started to leak 2 weeks early and then i was brought in for an induction.

   

  All went fine and she was healthy.

  I'm glad you posted this. My fundal measurement today was 40 weeks and I'm 37 weeks gestationally. The doc palpatated (sp?) my tummy and said I was all fluid and he thinks baby will be normal (measured in at 5lbs 11 ozs @ 35 weeks)....by those standards I'm measuring three weeks big due to fluid?   Did you ask him? I am waiting to hear back from my doctor, so I will post when I hear something. My LO has measured slightly large throughout the whole time, so it was no surprise that he came in at 6lbs 12 oz. They only noticed the excess fluid amount when the doc reviewed the ultrasound scans the next day. The tech didn't pick up on it. 

  I'll let you know what I learn.

  I have had this my entire pregnancy. In my case it is called Polyhydramnios. It generally causes preterm labor and I have had that since 27 weeks with strict bed rest. But my fluid levels have tapered off since about 34 weeks. Its very rare to have it up to the point of delivery. Most of the time your body "sucks up" the extra fluid when he start getting bigger. Your body is prob doing the same just not as quickly. Nothing to worry about since your almost considered full term. Don't stress :-)
