Apparently the cedar is knocking her on her butt as well, but she's too young for us to do anything more than what we've already been doing for her allergies. Her asthma has been out of control this week because of all the allergy-triggers, and we just saw her allergist again. All her meds have been changed up, and she was put on a steroid regimen for the next 9 days. They thought her breath sounds were bad enough today to warrant a steroid shot in the office, AND they said that if I hadn't brought her in, her ox levels would have "likely plummeted" in the next day or two leaving us in an emergency situation.
Girl just cannot breathe right now. And she can never catch a break.
And, now the paycheck I just deposited yesterday morning is GONE. Like, I have $17 left from it after the new meds, office visit, and renewing her epipens. I nearly threw up when the pharmacist gave me our total.
My poor girl.
Re: {yet another} vent about my poor bubble baby
:-(
Cedar is the devil.
No joke.
If you get Cam a bubble, can I share it with her for the next couple weeks? My face hurts.
Ugh, poor kid. And poor you guys, too
I'm not telling you to run away or get out of here or anything...but my cousin had horrible allergies and asthma when he was little. They moved out to Palo Alto CA when he was about 6 or 7 and it all went away. He's 17 now and fine, no allergies, no asthma. Maybe that's something to keep in the back of your mind?

Oh, bummer. Poor kid and poor checkbook.
Want to come vacation in subzero WI? Certainly no cedar to be found at -12 degrees.

I absolutely HATE to hear this
Our dr. has G on 1 tsp of Allegra twice daily & Flonase in the nose at night. I'm sure this is all stuff y'all already do, but it seems to help keep things at bay & under control.
Actually, no, we aren't doing Flonase. But I just put a call in to ask about it.
We do 1tsp Claritin daily, Pulmicort (preventative asthma) 2x a day, Xopenex (rescue asthma) when needed.
We do use a saline rinse when she's congested, but nothing medicated right now. Hmmm.. I wonder why they haven't suggested that for her?!

If your copays are that much of your paycheck, maybe you would qualify for a patient assistance program. I'm happy to help you find ones for your meds. Then you take the applications to your doc to sign and submit them (usually along with some financial info) and you may be able to get them for free!
Ditto.
Or Indy. Although it's not *quite* subzero here. It's about 28.
I live like 15 minutes from Palo Alto, you can come visit us too
It's in the Mid 50's here
sorry she's having such a miserable time :
