  • Get thee to your local library and pick up the list of children's library programs all over Farifax County.  It is utterly amazing how many interseting and free programs they offer.

Have you looked at the County rec centers to see if there are any classes during the day you would be interested in?

The malls often have story hours and concerts one morning a week, look on the Fair Oaks and Tysons websites for more info.  They also have indoor play areas which might be a lifesaver in cold, dreary weather.

Lebanese Taverna has a weekly concert that's free (you can stay for a reasonably priced lunch afterwards).

Jammin Java does weekday kids programs

The two nature centers (Hidden Pond and Hidden Oak (I think?)) both do daytime programming.  So does Frying Pan Park.  All three are interesting and free to visit even when no programs are going on.

Join Our-kids.com - It is the best compendium of children's programming in the DC area.
