Re: Fun Fitness Poll
Winter - Insanity or Turbo Jam
nice weather - try to go outside, hate the gym
haha - oops, forgot to finish. I've been working out for a while now.
I try to avoid greasy foods or foods I don't eat often if I have a run coming up.
For first timers - take it easy, enjoy it, don't give up, and it's not the Biggest Loser, you wont lose 20 lbs in one week.
1. What is "your" workout activity? (running, swimming, biking, rowing, hiking, etc...) sprint triathlons, but it's been running for my first upcoming half marathon.
2. How old where you when you first started? After my baby - 36 yrs old.
3. Do you ever compete in this sport regularly? Yes - at least 1 a year.
4. What is one thing you swear off (or try to do) during "training season"? Take out and limit wine intake.
5. One word(s) of advice to someone just starting out? If you're group training - Don't compare yourself to anyone else. It takes time, and you'll get better!

For the past several months, running. I love Nia, too (modern dance, yoga, martial arts fusion)
2. How old where you when you first started?
Running -- right before I found out I was pregnant, so 33. I started dance when I was 5 and have a minor in choreography. I was a dance major until I realized the average retirement age for performance is 26, and I was better at academics than dance.
3. Do you ever compete in this sport regularly?
I haven't yet but hope to start signing up for 5Ks soon.
4. What is one thing you swear off (or try to do) during "training season"?
I always try to eat fairly healthy, so I have no idea.
5. One word(s) of advice to someone just starting out?
You can accomplish anything if you start slow, stay consistent, and have faith in yourself :-)

1. What is "your" workout activity? (running, swimming, biking, rowing, hiking, etc...)
Running
2. How old where you when you first started?
18
3. Do you ever compete in this sport regularly?
I've done a 1/2 and full marathon.
4. What is one thing you swear off (or try to do) during "training season"?
Drinks with calories (gatorade during a 10+ mile run doesn't count)...they don't provide nutrition and only weigh you down.
5. One word(s) of advice to someone just starting out?
Start out slow and stick with it. It took me several years of walk/running to be able to run 4 miles. It takes a while to get to know your own body...when you can push yourself and when you can't. Whenever I feel like skipping a workout, I remember that I always feel better after working out and I never regret working out...I usually regret skipping.
