  I'd do it before. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to get a massage near the end of my pregnancy. I don't think I could have managed to find the time after DS arrived. Call the place first to make sure they do prenatal massage. Some places won't do it after you're X weeks along or don't do it at all.

  I would go before as PP said. It was WONDERFUL. I was also 3 day overdue and my back was KILLING me. I called and made an appt for the afternoon of Dec 20th. She asked how far along I was blah blah blah. There are certain points you can hit that can trigger labor so they like to know how far along you are to know if they can apply pressure there or not. (I've studied massage) Anyway..I made an appt for 3 that afternoon and my water broke 10 hours later, I had my daughter 26 hours after the massage.

  I agree with doing it before - immediately after (like first 6 weeks), I really wouldn't have wanted anyone rubbing on my lactating, bleeding, different body. Unless you are willing to wait months, do it now.  Well, on the other hand, I had a massage around 3 months post - DH and DD dropped me off and picked me up - we were on demand nursing, so we kept it as short of a time away as possible - and it was glorious.

   How about do it now and then buy another one after!

  I guess I'm in the minority, because I say after. I had prenatal massages with both pregnancies, and I thought they were just okay. It was hard to get comfortable, it was awkward with the big belly, etc. After the fact, it is so nice to get away for a little bit and take some time for yourself.

  Im a lurker lol Im going to be a sahm in august and I like to peek at this board every now and then...

   

  I am a massage therapist and I suggest going now I love to give pre-natal massages and my happiest clients where in the end stages of pregnancy. After the baby is born you may be to tired or stressed to go for a while.... pamper yourself now while you still have the free time enjoy!!!
