Re: Ok nasty head cold ... what to take ?

  • Tylenol for the headache. Sudafed is ok w/ some doctors, but not others. It's on my safe list, though. Unfortunately most nasal decongestants are on the can't have list.

I'm living on Robitussin DM for chest congestion/cough at the moment. I hate colds!

  • I've been this way for over a week now...current state is no sense of taste or smell.

I got the okay to take sudafed, Robitussin DM, tylenol Cold, and mucinex

I've been taking mucinex during the day and robitussin DM at night, with the occassional benadryl since I was unable to sleep.

This is completely miserable.  I hope it leaves soon.

On a positive note, it made drinking my glucola for glucose test very easy!

  • If your cough is productive, don't to Robitussen because you don't want to surpress it.  Go with plain Mucinex.

Robitussen DM (aka "plain Robitussin), has Mucinex in it so you don't have to take both at the same time.

    <3 Mucinex.

  • I have a cold too and have been using Tylenol Cold with the ok from my OB.
