After confirming I was pregnant after not being able to conceive for the last 2 1/2 years, we just found out that I had a miscarriage (chemical pregnancy) at 4 weeks 3 days.

Has anyone else been through this? How did you handle this? Were you able to conceive after?

first of all... so sorry that you are going through this - it's tough and lonely and hard to feel comfortable asking for support when it's this early.

I may have an "encouraging' story, which is that I became pregnant the very next month after going through the same thing. Reading afterwards, I learned that it is quite common to go through a super-fertile (for lack of better term) phase immediately following a loss.

So, if you're up for it, I would strongly encourage you to do it, and do it often as dates can also be a little wonky as a result

((hugs)) I am so sorry for your loss. I have had 3 miscarriages, and I know how tough it can be going through a loss. You might want to check out the Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss and the TTC after a Loss boards. The ladies there are super awesome and can relate to what you are going through. I am so, so sorry to hear about your miscarriage.

that is such a difficult thing to go through, to try so hard, and to go through this. I went through a miscarriage at 7 weeks in January 2010. It was a chemical pregnancy as well. It is an incredibly normal thing that happens to surprisingly many women the first time she gets pregnant. I know it doesn't take the pain away, but just so you know most likely there is nothing wrong with your ability to get pregnant again

My husband and I are now 13 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby. It took us two years after our miscarriage, but we did not start really trying until 6 months ago. I recommend using the app (if you have an iPod or iPhone) called "monthly cycles". You can Keep track of your cycles and the days you have sex with the app. There is a feature on this app that estimates when you will ovulate next. The sole reason I am carrying this child is because of this app! During the week it told me I would ovulate, my hubby and I were intimate 6 days in a row, and every time afterward I laid in bed at least 10 minutes before going to the bathroom. A couple weeks later I found out I was pregnant. It might take a few months, but it will happen! Good luck and again I feel for what you are going through.

Thank you so much for your encouraging story and helpful advice. I am definitely saddened but now that I know I can get preggo without fertility treatments I am more determined than ever to keep trying or do whatever it takes! It is a sad situation but I am trying to hold onto the positives. I havent told anyone either so I dont have much support right now besides from the hubby. Its nice to hear of others who have experienced this and how it turned out.

It says I should be fertile all next week or so, so I guess that means I have to get busy!

My HCG was 16 but my progesterone was only 0.9 which is very low. Plus I have been have very bad bleeding for last 3 days.

I went through it 5 times before conceiving DD. You just have to take time to grieve, keep your head up and try again when you are ready.

For us, losing weight and getting health did the trick for me. I lost 40 lbs and had DD, I lost 80 lbs and I am carrying this surprise.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It took me two years to conceive and that pregnancy ened in a miscarriage. I went to the loss boards for support from others who have been where I was. It was a very hard time for me. I was able to get pregnant again after my first normal cycle (m/c in Sept, pregnant again in Nov). I wish you all the best on your journey.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a CP in May, and now I'm expecting again. A lot of my friends have similar stories--it's common, but not talked about. I think that makes it harder-- I didn't feel like I could talk to anyone about what I was feeling.

As far as getting pregnant again, I have to disagree with a PP--most apps are basically worthless since they are based on average cycle, which few women have. Check out fertilityfriend.com or the FAQs on the Trying to Get Pregnant board if you feel like you need more info on upping your chances.

I am so sorry for your loss.

My m/cs were later (8 and 10 weeks) but yes, I conceived quickly after each one. I hope the same will be true for you.

I am sorry to hear this. DH and I just conceived (got my BFP on 1/13) following a m/c at 7w3d on 11/20. I had one AF and then it happened again. We were suprised and happy (here's hoping it sticks). But keep up your hope and faith, it can happen quickly again.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had a CP and was very sad about it, but 2 months later I conceived again and now I'm 10 weeks pregnant. The good news is that you got pregnant! Talk to your doctor to be sure you don't have a progesterone deficiency. Good luck!
