Naming TWINS! Long list - need opinions?

So we found out a few weeks ago that we're expecting TWINS! So exciting :)

Of course ever since we found out I've been racking my brain trying to come up with names that would work together as well as with my 17 month old's name.

Our DS is named Anthony.

Ideally, I think I'd like to have all three names end in a different letter. For instance Anthony ends in 'Y' and then maybe I'd like one name to end in 'N' and one to end in 'A'

And I'd like for the names to be 2 or 3 syllables as we have a very short {only 3 letters}, 1 syllable last name.

Following these rules seems to be easier when it's one boy and one girl.

Here is my list so far. As you can see I don't have a lot of ideas for 2 boys. And yes, I do realize that a lot of these names are on the popular side.

So tell me.. Do you like any of these sibsets?

If not, I'd love some suggestions for twin names that would go well with Anthony. Twin girl names? Twin boy names? And twin boy-girl names?

All suggestions welcome!

Re: Naming TWINS! Long list - need opinions?

  • Congrats on Twins. I have twins too.  B/G.  Names were really hard for us.  We had too many that we loved and had a hard time picking.

     of your list...

love any of these together with Anthony and Olivia as they are the same style to me.

Yes  Anthony + Olivia + either Caleb, Nicholas, Lucas, Emma, Evan, Emilia, or Ethan.

Favorite combo is Anthony + Olivia + Ethan.

I would avoid putting the E names together though for the twins. That is too matchy for me. Example: Emma and Evan or Ethan and Evan.

These names don't go wtih Anthony + Olivia at all to me - totally different style...seem trendy vs. traditional...

    No  Aniston, Ansley, Hayden, Brenna.

And sorry, but I don't understand the whole last letter thing you are trying to do. I would just skip that part and find 2 names you like.

You might want to try posting on the Multiple board too for suggestions.

  • I'm not a big fan of all names starting with the same letter so I would rule out your last combo (also don't care for Aniston as a FN at all). I also would not use Ethan -- just sounds a little too similar to Anthony to my ear.

My fave of your names for each possible B/G  combo are:

2 girls: Anthony, Olivia, Emma (although Emilia is a close second)

2 boys: Anthony, Nicholas, Caleb (I know you don't have this combo up there but I like these the best of your boys' names)

    B/G:  Anthony, Olivia, Nicholas

Also, Nicolas is an OK spelling but I prefer it with the H. I think he'd be correcting people all the time if you left it out.

Thank you for your suggestions. I think you're totally right about the names that you pointed out as being trendy! I definitely think that it's important to try to keep within the same style.

Nicholas and Caleb is a great suggestion. Thank you!

I agree - the H is necessary. Not sure why I left it out :)

And I really like the favorites you chose.

  • The only names I don't like on your list are Aniston and Ansley.  Not only is that waaay too much A for me, I just strongly dislike those names.

Probably my favorite combinations would be:

    Anthony, Nicholas, & Emma
    Anthony, Nicholas, & Everett
    Anthony, Emma, & Olivia

  • ANTHONY OLIVIA BRENNA

Cute. The girls name both end in A which you didn't really want but I think they're different enough and sound good together.

    ANTHONY OLIVIA EMILIA

The girls name are too similar.

    ANTHONY OLIVIA ETHAN

    Eh. It's alright.

    ANTHONY OLIVIA EVAN

Nice combo but Evan may look a little short with a 3 letter last name.

    ANTHONY OLIVIA EMMA

Olivia and Emma are a little similar and again with the short first short last name combo.

    ANTHONY OLIVIA HAYDEN

I'm assuming Hayden is a boy. I like this combo. They all go together and are still different.

    ANTHONY OLIVIA LUCAS

Again, nice combo. All go together but aren't similar.

    ANTHONY OLIVIA NICOLAS

Sounds good but I prefer Nicholas with an H.

    ANTHONY EVERETT CALEB

I think Anthony is more of a classic name and the others don't quite go with it.

    ANTHONY ANISTON ANSLEY

No way. Not only is the 3 A thing overkill but the twin names are way too trendy to go with Anthony.

  • I like

    Anthony, Emilia and Olivia

    Anthony, Olivia and Nicholas

....What about Anthony, Nicholas and .... Maximilian (Max), Leonardo (Leo), Matthew, Jonathan, or Sebastian
